Product draft for legal review
Last updated August 23, 2026On this page
HireHint separates technologies required to provide a requested service from optional platform and careers technologies controlled by clear visitor choices.
This product-grounded draft describes verified behavior. Production cookie names, domains, providers, exact lifetimes, and browser-signal handling must be confirmed before external publication.
Scope of this policy
This draft explains how HireHint websites, public careers experiences, application experiences, and authenticated workspaces use cookies, browser storage, pixels, and similar technologies.
HireHint provides platform-wide privacy controls for optional analytics and marketing technologies. A customer-operated careers page has a separate consent scope for analytics configured under that customer’s authority.
Technology types
- Cookie
- A small value stored by a website through the browser and returned with later requests to the applicable site.
- Local storage
- Browser storage used on a device for preferences, controlled drafts, consent choices, and supported product state.
- Session storage
- Browser storage normally limited to the active tab or browser session.
- Pixel or tag
- A small request or script that may measure an event when it is configured and permitted.
Essential technologies
Essential technologies support authentication, verification, session continuity, security, routing, accessibility, consent memory, and other features a person requests. Disabling them through browser controls may prevent part of the service from working correctly.
- Authenticate a user and preserve a protected session.
- Apply organization, role, scope, and direct-route protections.
- Remember security, verification, consent, or interface choices.
- Preserve a user-controlled draft or in-session workflow when the product explicitly supports it.
- Prevent duplicate, abusive, or unauthorized requests and help diagnose failures.
HireHint platform consent
On HireHint-controlled pages, a visitor can accept all optional technologies, reject optional technologies, or manage analytics and marketing separately. Essential technologies remain active because they support requested product and security functions.
The browser stores a versioned consent record. Optional tracking nodes identified by HireHint are removed when the corresponding category is denied, and the choice can be revisited from Cookie settings in the public-site footer.
Optional careers analytics
HireHint supports customer-configured careers-page analytics. The current product contract loads configured analytics only when the careers site is live and the visitor has granted analytics consent. Rejecting analytics leaves essential careers-page operation available.
A customer may configure a valid analytics measurement identifier or a secure conversion-pixel destination. Those destinations are customer-selected third parties with their own practices. A visible settings field does not mean analytics is configured or active.
Current technology register
| Technology | Purpose | When active | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Protected-session mechanism | Authentication, verification, security, and protected access | When a user signs in or verifies an account | Session or configured expiry |
| Local interface storage | Preferences, supported drafts, navigation state, and dismissed guidance | When the related feature is used | Until replaced, cleared, or removed by the feature |
| Platform consent record | Remember platform analytics and marketing choices | After the visitor accepts, rejects, or saves preferences | Until changed, superseded by a new consent version, or cleared |
| Optional platform analytics | Understand product reliability and feature use | Only after analytics consent and only when a supported tracker is configured | Defined by the configured provider |
| Optional platform marketing | Support relevant communications and campaign measurement | Only after marketing consent and only when a supported technology is configured | Defined by the configured provider |
| Careers analytics choice | Remember analytics granted or denied for a customer careers site | After the visitor makes a choice | Until changed or browser storage is cleared |
| Customer-configured analytics | Measure careers-page visits | Only on a live configured careers site after consent | Defined by the selected analytics provider |
| Customer-configured conversion pixel | Record a customer-defined application conversion event | Only after consent and a completed supported event | Single request; provider retention is external |
Names, domains, exact lifetimes, and providers must be re-generated from the production configuration before this register becomes externally effective.
Customer careers sites
A customer controls the content and optional analytics configuration of its careers site. HireHint provides a preferences interface that identifies essential operation, offers reject and accept choices when analytics is configured, and allows the visitor to revisit the choice on that careers experience.
Customers must not configure an analytics or conversion destination unless they have the authority, notice, consent behavior, and provider terms required for that use.
Third-party technologies
A connected identity provider, analytics service, embedded service, or customer-selected destination may set or read its own technologies when the person chooses or authorizes that interaction. HireHint does not control the independent provider’s retention or use.
The production subprocessor registry and the relevant customer notice should identify third parties acting for HireHint. Customer-selected integrations should be identified by the customer where it determines the purpose and configuration.
Your choices
- Use Cookie settings in the public-site footer to change platform analytics and marketing choices after the initial accept-or-reject decision.
- Use the careers-page cookie settings to reject, allow, or revisit optional analytics when the site exposes that capability.
- Use browser controls to inspect, block, or clear cookies and browser storage, understanding that essential product functions may stop working.
- Contact the customer organization about analytics configured on its careers page.
- Contact HireHint Support about technologies controlled directly by HireHint.
Browser privacy signals
The final production notice must state whether and how HireHint responds to Global Privacy Control or another legally recognized browser signal. No response should be promised until the live consent and privacy-choice behavior has been verified end to end.
Retention and changes
Essential storage should last only as long as required for its security, session, preference, or requested product purpose. Optional provider retention depends on the configured provider and customer settings.
This register should be updated when a technology, domain, purpose, provider, duration, or consent behavior changes. Material changes should receive an updated date and appropriate notice.
Contact
